The president of the Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship Nusantara participates in the Second Interfaith Dialog between Indonesia and Serbia in October
The Serbian Government Office for Cooperation With Churches And Religious Communities has accepted the proposal of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to hold the Second Interfaith Dialog of Serbia And Indonesia on the 23th-26th October in Indonesia.
Dr MiletaRadojevic, the director of the Office for Cooperation With Churches And Religious Communities, has proposed to form a delegation which will consist of Serbian Patriarch Irinej, Belgrade archbishop Stanislav Hocevar, Grand Mufti Adem Ziklic, rabbi Isak Asiel, Grand Mufty deputy Muhamed Jusufspahic, assistant to the Director of the Office for the Cooperation With Churches and Religious Communities Dr Dragan Novakovic, and the president of the Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship Aleksandar Rakovic, together with the director of the Office for Cooperation With Churches And Religious Communities Dr Mileta Radojevic.
The first meeting of the state-religion delegation of Serbia was held on the 13th of September 2013, at the Palace of Serbia. Radojevic has introduced the members of the delegation with the program of the Second Interfaith Dialog of Serbia And Indonesia, which is going to be held in Jakarta, Java island, and Medan, Sumatra.
The main topic of the Second Interfaith Dialog of Serbia and Indonesia will be “Management of Religious And Cultural Differences”, and it will be divided into two parts: “The New Paradigm of Religious And Cultural Studies” and “The Role of Education in the Promotion of Tolerance, Mutual Respect And Understanding”.
It is agreed that the two working groups, consisting of the members of both delegations, will discuss topics of additional interest. Those are “The New Paradigm of Religious and Cultural Studies: the Development of Academic Cooperation” (Indonesia will preside to the working group), and “The Interfaith Cooperation: Ideas And Practices” (Serbia will preside).
Besides interfaith conference that will be held in Jakarta, it is expected that Serbian delegation will have a reception with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Judojono.
The delegation will have series of meetings with the highest state and religious officials of Indonesia.
A special importance will be given to a visit to Indonesian orthodox community (with the central office in Sumatra), which is under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
The first interfaith dialog between Serbia and Indonesia was held on the 7th-9th of April 2011. According to Indonesians, it was the best organized interfaith dialog at that time.
