THE EXCURSION TO SZEGED

THE EXCURSION TO SZEGED

The Hungarian city of Szeged was that chosen destination, selected by NUSANTARA and aimed at closing its travelling season in 2016.

On Saturday, December 17th not even strong cold was able to prevent The NUSANTARA Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship from hitting the road. The members of the Association crossed the state border on this occasion and headed to Szeged, city commonly known here as a suitable destination for weekend shopping tours. It turned out that Szeged was much more than just a town offering cheese and “Gyula” sausages at a reasonable price.

The members of The NUSANTARA Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship primarily gathered to socialize, but in mid-December 2016 they were also given a chance to acquire all from their purchase list for the New Year Eve at the two biggest shopping malls in Szeged. The excursion itself was conceived in a way to offer various possibilities for the time remaining at their disposal, allowing them to shop in stores, relax, take a rest at nearby restaurants, take a walk… according to personal choices and preferences.

The excursions organized by NUSANTARA along a year have, however, their significant educational side. Thus, one of the numerous ways to spend a day off in Southern Hungary was a visit to The Móra Ferenc Museum in Szeged. The Museum hosted an exhibition of The Archaeological Museum in Pompeii, seen for the first time in this part of Europe in December 2016.

With this excursion the cycle of the travels carried out in 2016 came to its end. The NUSANTARA Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship intends to make a short break by March 2017, initiating a new series of excursions whose purpose is not solely to strengthen the ties between its members, but also the promotion of The Association across Serbia, as well as neighbouring countries.
