THE EXCURSION TO HOMOLJE AND ŽAGUBICA
NUSANTARA spent the last day of June 2018 in Homolje – on Saturday, June 30, members of the NUSANTARA Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship toured Eastern Serbia.
That rainy day the road first led to Despotovac, where members of the NUSANTARA Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship were welcomed with a ready-to-be-served breakfast at the restaurant of the „TLS“ hotel. NUSANTARA headed from there to the Krupaja Spring, monument of nature and protected natural property of extraordinary relevance. Among a profusion of springs and sources in Eastern Serbia, the choice of the Krupaja Spring for Saturday excursion was due to the fact that it belongs to the most powerful gravitational springs, among other reasons.
The Spring of Krupaja was not the only source NUSANTARA visited this rainy Saturday in June. The excursionists also toured the spring of the Mlava river in Žagubica; they were left enough time at disposal for a visit to the spring and a break at a nearby restaurant.
Žagubica was, at the same time, the most important point of Saturday’s itinerary because of the traditional tourist manifestation and „The Spring of Homolje“ popular gathering, which has been an inevitable part of the tourist offer of the municipality – this year, NUSANTARA attended the 16th „Springs of Homolje“ exhibition of the popular creation. Colourful costumes, a series of popular choreographies and dances, as well as traditional popular melodies were a special attraction not solely for members of the NUSANTARA Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship, but also for the personnel of the Embassy of Indonesia in Serbia, invited by NUSANTARA on this occasion.
On the excursion to Homolje the last Saturday of June, the NUSANTARA Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship was accompanied by attaché for culture, information and cultural issues of the Embassy of Indonesia in Serbia, Miss Sthevia Idira Putri with her mother, and attaché for communication of the Embassy of Indonesia in Serbia, Mr. Achmad Iberahim with his wife.
Miss Putri’s mother celebrated her birthday the last day of June, which was the reason for NUSANTARA to give her adequate gifts, typical of Homolje, in front of the Gornjak monastery.
The Gornjak monastery was the last spot of Saturday’s travel across Eastern Serbia. At duke Lazar’s endowment, erected in 1379, ten years before the Battle of Kosovo, members of the NUSANTARA Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship were received by the prioress of the monastery, Mother Veronika, who shortly talked to the visitors about the history of the temple. It was, at the same time, an occasion for NUSANTARA to give the prioress and the sisterhood led by Mother Veronika some products made by the Indonesian „Indomie“ company, which confirmed the status of the best promoter of Indonesian firms in Serbia, already gained by the NUSANTARA Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship.
NUSANTARA supported financially the realization of Saturday’s excursion.
