SOLO EXHIBITION OF DRAGANA MLADENOVIC AT “BRUKENTHAL” MUSEUM IN ROMANIA
At the invitation of “Brukenthal” Museum in Sibiu, Romania, Dragana Mladenovic, an academic painter and a member of the Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship “Nusantara” presented the exhibition of traditional Indonesian-Javanese Wayang Kain painting “Dream of Java”.
The exhibition was opened on August 2, 2012 at the Contemporary Art Gallery of “Brukenthal” Museum in Sibiu, which was declared the European Capital of Culture in 2007.
The exhibition of 36 Wayang Kain paintings was officially opened by the director of all galleries of Brukenthal Museum, professor Alexandru Sonoc and a gallery curator Anka Mihulec.
The director of the Art Museum of Brasov was also present at the opening of the exhibition whereby he expressed the wish to host the exhibition in this Romanian city, known for Count Dracula.
Sibiu city television station supported this event by an interview and a long coverage.
Painter Mladenovic gave a lecture on the subject of Wayang Kain paintings and briefly presented the epics of Mahabharata, Ramayana, their characters and symbols.
