“Nusantara” and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, along with the Belgrade City Library organized Ivana Kladarin Panic’s travelogue evening named “My Indonesia”, on Monday, 27 April 2015, in the Roman Hall of the Belgrade City Library.

While living in Indonesia, Ivana Kladarin Panic acquired an unforgettable experience, primarily in Jakarta where she lived five years, as a wife of an official from our Embassy.

Lively, modern and yet traditional, often surrounded by monsoons and large celebrations, Jakarta is a capital that each day brings forth a different, unusual life. The author had the opportunity to meet this great city, from its great diplomatic receptions to its poorest regions.

With her journalistic observations, she experienced Indonesia’s “tectonic movements”, major political protest and unique celebrations for the Day of the Republic. She liked to socialize with the members of the Orthodox Church of Indonesia. They regularly celebrated Easter in Jakarta together with Muslims and Catholics.

However, she had mostly experienced Indonesia by traveling, experiencing different regions and excitements, one of which was the Asian Dali in Bali.

She watched the progress of the economy, which has grown into a serious country, with companies competing on the global market.

However, the friendships that she acquired are solid bridges that continued as she proceeded travelling as the wife of a diplomat and a journalist. She continues to socialize with Indonesians or whoever fell in love with this unusual and unique country.

The presentation was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia Harry Richard James Kandl6;u, while the attendees were welcomed by the Secretary General Marko Jelic.
