MULTIMEDIA FESTIVAL DREAMING KOSMOS – INDONESIA

A multimedia festival dedicated to the traditional art and culture of Indonesia “Dreaming Kosmos Indonesia”, was held in “Magacin” gallery in Belgrade from 8th to 14th October 2015, organized by musician Ana Stojičić, a scholar of Darmasiswa scholarship from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia together with the painter Miroslav Dukić.

During the one-year stay in Indonesia, these two young artists have dedicated themselves to the study of traditional art – batik and gamelan music. Maturing, through the patience with which people of Indonesia tirelessly radiate, as individuals and as artists, they felt a divine experience of overflowing colors and shades of paradise islands. One of the biggest lessons was the experience of the Indonesian community. “The people of Indonesia daily nurture relationships, gathering and believing together… this way, artistic and social miracles are realized”, is one of the most memorable messages from the island of Java.

Another valuable message is that all branches of art are intertwined in their roots, serving one another, but also cannot be one without the other, therefore the intention of the festival was to depict this compound and offer it to visitors.

Inspired by these experiences Ana and Miroslav realized a festival, during which participants and visitors will be equal to embody the idea.

Program consisted of Miroslav Dukić’s batik painting exhibition, music concerts with Indonesian instruments, Bidadari dance group performance, which deals with traditional Indonesian dance, existing at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, followed by various workshops in which visitors had the opportunity to directly experience the Indonesian tradition, chat rooms where people shared their experiences of stay in Indonesia.

Festival “Dreaming Kosmos Indonesia” is intended for all people interested in intercultural experiences, and interactive achievements in various fields of art.
The opening of the festival was attended by H.E. Harry Richard James Kandou, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as numerous members of Nusantara – Serbian and Indonesian society of friendship.
