MEMBERS OF THE NUSANTARA ASSOCIATION OF SERBIAN-INDONESIAN FRIENDSHIP VISITED THE ISLAMIC COMMUNITY OF SERBIA AND THE BAJRAKLI MOSQUE

On April the 1st 2018, members of the NUSANTARA Association of Serbian-Indonesian friendship visited the headquarters of the Islamic Community of Serbia in Belgrade.Their visit included a tour around the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, the Bajrakli mosque and the presence during the afternoon prayer.

The guests were received by Mr. Abdullah Nu’man, Serbian Mufti, who was answering during a 30-minute long visit questions related to the Muslim belief system, goals of the Community when it comes to religious education, ways of making people of different religions familiar with Islam, Islamic cultural monuments in Belgrade, as well as life of Muslims in Belgrade and Serbia…

After the conversation, the members of the NUSANTARA Association of Serbian-Indonesian friendship attended a prayer at the Bajrakli mosque, and then the principal imam, Mr. Ramadan Mehmedi, spoke in details about the importance and meaning of prayer, as well as about other religious duties.

Serbian Mufti, Mr. Abdullah Nu’man, offered books to all the present members of the NUSANTARA Association: „The Quran“ in Arabic and Serbian, translated by Besim Korkut and published in Sarajevo in 2017, and „Reading of a Muslim mind“ by Hasan Hathout, published in Sarajevo in 2015.

From their part, the members of the NUSANTARA Association gave the Serbian Mufti books about Indonesia: „The Milky Way of an Ocean“ by Sonja Lapatanov and „Fatal Beauty“ by Eka Kurniavan.
