INDONESIAN AMBASSADOR ON A WORKING VISIT TO MLADENOVAC AND SOPOT

On the initiative of the Serbian-Indonesian Friendship Society „Nusantara“ of Belgrade, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Serbia, H.E. Mr. Muhamed Abduh Dalimunthe accompanied by his spouse Mme Rahayu Dalimunthe and the Economic Counsellor of the Embassy, Mr. Eko Himawan, on 18th June, 2009 paid a visit to the communes of Mladenovac and Sopot. Mr. Dragovan-Bata Lukić and Mr. Marko Jelic, President and Secretary General of the Society were also present.

The Ambassador toured and saw the „ABSMINE – TRAFO A.D.“ factory where he was welcomed by the Deputy General Director, Mr. Jovan Panić. In the past this factory had maintained very good business relations with Indonesia. Mr. Panic and his associates, informed the Ambassador on the present possibilities for cooperation, considering that the transformers, as the basic products of this factory, are very required in the Indonesian markets. The Ambassador stressed out that this visit presented only one in the series of his visits to the Serbian economic subjects, confirming the recent assessments of the Serbian and Indonesian governments on the needs and real possibilities for the widening of economic cooperation between the two countries. The Ambassador also stated that, today and also in the future, Indonesia is in need of transformers, expressing hope that this contact is an initial stimulation for the development of fruitful cooperation in this field. He also recalled that the trade balance between our two countries, last year, reached 55 million dollars, and that there was enough room for mutual bigger investmens. In the framework of his visit to Mladenovac, the Ambassador also visited the Primary School „Momčilo Živojinović“, at which he was given a warm welcome. At the entrance the students, wearing the Serbian national costumes welcomed the guests with domestic unleavened bread, salt and apples. They were also cordially welcomed by the School Principal, Ms. Vesna Vlajić and representatives of the Mladenovac commune as well. At the occasion the Ambassador, his associates and representatives of the Society « Nusantara » were informed that in the group of arts and culture of the school, headed by Professor Ljiljana Krulj, as part of the extracurriculaire actitivies, there was an art section, for batik painting, which is very rare in Serbia, and perhaps, the only one ever existed. The students of this section had recently organized exhibitions in the City Hall of Belgrade and in the premises of the Military Museum at Kalemegdan. School Principal and the representatives of Mladenovac for a very warm welcome. In the art program the students presented Serbian foklore, playing the classic music, while the girls choir sang Serbian songs. Specially for this event, two Indonesian traditionsl songs were presented. The Ambassador then inspected the exhibition of the students’ works on the batik, and in the workshop he was acquainted with the ways and techniques of the bdatik painting. He highly appreciated and thanked prof. Ljiljana Krulj for her activities in developing the interest of the students for the batik, and also thanked the At the end of the friendly meeting the School Board presented a painting to the Ambassador, the work of a student of the batik painting. Upon the arrival at the commune of Sopot, the guests were welcomed by Mr. Živorad Milosavljević. In a cordial talk, he mentioned that this commune was the right place for the investments in the economic projects mutually beneficial. After a cordial talk, accompanied by the Head of the Commune, the Ambassador toured the production lines of ready made clothes „Mona“, where they were welcomed by Mr. Djordje Momirović, owner and Drector General of the company and Mr. Tomislav Momirović, Director General’s assistant. The guets accquanited with the products and their quality. As a token of appreciation, the General Drector of „Mona“ presnted to Mme Ambassador a souvenir, a collection of „Mona“.

The meeting was ended in an enjoyable get-together atmosphere at the touristic object „Babe“ downhill of Kosmay, where the Ambassador and his companions spent a short time in a very beautiful picturesque surroundings of the hotel complex and got acquainted with the capacity and possibilities of services offerd by this centre, and had an opportunity to enjoy the delicious specialties of the Serbian cullinary.
