FESTIVAL OF HUNGARIAN CUISINE AND THE SMEDEREVO CITY
On Saturday, October 8th the NUSANTARA Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship organized an excursion for its members. First stop was monastery Bavanište, Orthodox monastery in South Banat. The main event of the day was festival of Hungarian cuisine in Skorenovac, south from Kovin. Colorful autumn day, smell of Hungarian specialties, and a sound of Hungarian czardas, was a great combination. This was an occasion for the members and the friends of NUSANTARA to taste and buy home-made local products, as well as Hungarian specialties.
After that the group visited Smederevo, where the tour guide narrated interesting details from the city history. The next stop was the magnificent Mansion of Serbia Government „Sunčev breg“. Villa is dating from the Obrenovic dynasty period. The view from the Villa to Danube river and Avala is breathtaking.
The journey was completed by visiting renowned wineries “Jeremić” in Jugovo, near Smederevo where the gests had a chance to taste and enjoy their best wines.
NUSANTARA is very thankful to all those who helped the realization of the trip, especially the Tourist Organization of Smederevo, which, for our tourist group, has prepared brochures and tourist guides.
