FARERWELL PARTY OF THE INDONESIAN AMBASSADOR IN SERBIA

On the occasion of the termination of the terms of duty and retirement of the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Belgrade, H.E. Mr. Muhammad Abduh Dalimunthe, a farewell reception was organized on Saturday, 24th April, 2010, followed by dinner and fellowship for all members and friends of the Association of Friendship of Serbia and Indonesia “Nusantara” and members of the Indonesian community in Belgrade as well.

In his farewell speech, Chairman of the Association of Friendship of Serbia and Indonesia “Nusantara” Dragovan-Bata Lukić, expressed his positive assessment for the contribution and achievement of Ambassador Dalimunthe during the last three and a half year of mission in Belgrade. Undoubtedly, today one can see the exceptionally good political relations between our two countries, significant results have been achieved bilaterally in the promotion of economic cooperation as well as in the programming of cultural, educational exchanges and in other fields as well. During this period, Ambassador Dalimunthe has shown great understanding and offered significant support to the many activities of the “Nusantara” Association. His Excellency and members of his family will remain to the best memory of all members of the Association, as proved and sincere friends.

Finally, on behalf of all members, the Association Chairman, Dragovan-Bata Lukić presented the Ambassador a painting “The flowers” of the author Dušan Mašović as a token of long lasting friendship.

In his speech, the Ambassador thanked the Executive Board of the Association for its contribution to the promotion of friendship between the two peoples. He also expressed great pleasure to have happily spent three-and-a half-year of time in Serbia but, however, he was, at the same time, feeling unhappy, because, as he said, he had to leave a great number of friends he had acquired during his mission in Serbia.

In the cultural part of the program, specially organized for this occasion, members of the Association Miša Popov, tenor, Nebojša Pavlović, trumpet, Hristina Antić, piano and Boris Vančev, piano, played some music of Schubert and Rossini.

The evening was shared by all the participants together in which was served the Indonesian national cuisine, accompanied by the beautiful sound of music of the tambourine orchestra whose players are friends of the “Nusantara “ Association form Pančevo.
