Excursion of Nusantara members around western province Vojvodina and Srem
On the occasion if the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Indonesia, the Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship “Nusantara” organized a trip for members and friends on Sunday, November 9th 2014. The trip included a tour of Sava Šumanović’s birth house and gallery, with the guidance of director Vesna Burojević; “Ilijanum”, Ilija Bašićevićs Museum of Naive Art under the guidance of director Ljubinka Pantić.
After that, a tour of the monastery Privina glava was organized, a monastery in the west point of Fruška Gora. Friendly hosts, together with prior Gavrilo, welcomed our members and friends, and organized a tour of the monastery church, and made small feast as a sign of welcome in the monastery dining room. Prior Gavrilo gave the icon and the book “The oldest monastery on Fruska Gora in Privina Glava” to the two Indonesian guests, saying that he was glad that the monastery was visited by the representatives of distant, but traditionally friendly nation.
At the end of the trip, tour of the Special Nature Reserve “Zasavica” was organized, with the inspirational lecture under the viewing point, sightseeing of zoo with old races (magnulica, Podolsko ox, Balkan and Banat donkey..), together with an exciting boat ride on the lake, tasting of stew, Srem strudel with poppy seeds, as well as walking around the reserve.
A sunny November day contributed a pleasant atmosphere for a long memory.
