Director of the Office for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Communities Mileta Radojevic received parliamentary delegation from the Republic of Indonesia

Director of the Office for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Communities of the Republic of Serbia, Mileta Radivojevic, received a parliamentary delegation from the Republic of Indonesia.

Radojevic informed the guests about the present religious situation in the Republic of Serbia. He also underlined the harmonious inter-religious relations between the state authorities, churches and religious communities in our country.

Director Radojevic emphasized that the Republic of Serbia would continue the inter-religious dialogue with the Republic of Indonesia and that our state-religious delegation would be visiting Indonesia in the first half of the 2013 on the occasion of the second inter-religious dialogue between Serbia and Indonesia.

Radojevic expressed his gratitude to the friends from Indonesia for their strong determination to continue supporting the territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia in relation to Kosovo and Metohija. In this regard, Director informed the guests about the difficult situation of the Serbian community in Kosovo and Metohija.

The Head of Indonesian parliamentary delegation Milton Pakpahan stated that Indonesia would continue to give “the full support to the territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia in relation to Kosovo and Metohija.”

Pakpahan added that the members of Indonesian Parliament received valuable information on inter-religious co-existence in the Republic of Serbia, and that he would prepare a detailed report about it and about the difficult situation of Serbian community in Kosovo and Metohija.

The Ambassador of Indonesia to Serbia, HE Mr Samuel Samson said that the first inter-religious dialogue between Serbia and Indonesia, which was held in Belgrade in April 2011, left a positive impression about the inter-religious relations in the Republic of Serbia, and that the religious and state representatives from Indonesia returned from Belgrade with a standpoint that they need to continue to support the territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia in relation to Kosovo and Metohija.

At the meeting, it was concluded that the inter-religious cooperation between the two countries has good prospects and underlined that the Indonesian Minister of Religion should soon visit the Republic of Serbia.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship Nusantara Aleksandar Rakovic and government officials of the Office for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Communities, Dr Dragan Novakovic, Dr Tomislav Brankovic and Vladimir Todic.
