DELEGATION OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA VISITED BELGRADE
In the period from April 7 till April 9, 2011 the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia was visiting Belgrade. The visit was intended to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries. On that occasion they announced their intention to mark 50 years from the founding of Non-Aligned Movement in Bandung in September 2011, by staging a large retrospective exhibition of archive materials and documentation, as well as an exhibition of photographs and video materials from the First Conference of the Non-Aligned Countries held in Belgrade in 1961.
Indonesian delegation visited Belgrade to attend an Inter-religious dialogue between Serbia and Indonesia. The Association of Serbia-Indonesian Friendship “Nusantara”, used its contacts and shortly arranged a meeting between Indonesian delegation and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, the Archives of Serbia and Montenegro, “Filmske Novosti”, the Museum of History of Yugoslavia and the Radio-Television of Serbia, in order to reach an agreement on the use of archive materials.
The delegation including Isman Pasha, the Director of the Museum of Asia and Africa Conference in Bandung, Simarmata Allen, Head of Public Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, and Yusran Hadromy, Head of Documentation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, received the representatives of “Nusantara” Association – Dragovan Bata Lukic, President, Marko Jelic, Secretary General and Miroslav Stojanovic, a member of the Management Board. On that occasion, President of the Association provided guests from Indonesia with a CD with more than fifty copies of original photographs from the archives of “Politika”, the meetings of President Tito and Sukarno in Belgrade in 1961.
President of the “Nusantara” Association also informed the delegation about the activities, goals and operations of the Assossiation.
