COOPERATION BETWEEN THE BELGRADE UNIVERSITY AND THE UNIVERSITY OF INDONESIA
At the initiative and in organisation by the Nusantara Society, on 10 March 2008, the Rector of the University of Belgrade Prof. Dr. Branko Kovacevic met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Belgrade, H.E. Mr. M.A. Dalimunthe and his associates at the University’s Rectorate.
Vice-chancellor Prof.Dr. Lipovsek, the Dean of the Philological Faculty Prof.Dr. Grubacic and the Chairman of Nusantara Association Mr. Dragovan-Bata Lukic also participated in the talks.
The visit to the University raised issues of future co-operation between Belgrade University and the University of Indonesia. Both sides concluded with pleasure that the Agreement between the University in Bandung and Belgrade University would be renewed and that Belgrade University would invite, among others, the rector of the Bandung University to the World Conference of Rectors, held in April 2009 in Belgrade.
Based on the survey conducted at the Belgrade University concerning the possible co-operation between the two Universities, several faculties have voted for collaboration with Indonesian faculties within different scientific fields.
