Chairman of the Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship “Nusantara” – guest of the President of the Republic of Indonesia
In 2008, the Office of the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia started a program “Presidential Friends of Indonesia” which is being held on the occasion of the Independence Day. It starts on August 17th and lasts for a week.
This year, the guests of the President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia are people from 11 countries who have contributed to strengthening of relations between Indonesia and their countries.
One of the guests is Dr. Aleksandar Rakovic, Chairman of the Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship “Nusantara” who will report on a constant improvement of Serbian-Indonesian relations in the past ten years, and particularly on the contributions of “Nusantara” Association.
Mr Rakovic, Research Associate at the Institute for Recent History of Serbia, was the coordinator of the interfaith dialogue between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Indonesia which was held in 2011.
