AMBASSADOR KANDU ELECTED AS THE PRESIDENT’S ADVISOR ON THE ASSEMBLY

In the Hall of the Belgrade municipality of Savski Venac, on April 2nd, 2015, the Serbian-Indonesian Friendship “Nusantara” held an assembly.

Prior to the beginning, the host and assistant to the President of the Municipal Assembly Savski Venac, Mr. Sava Martinovic, welcomed members of the Society, expressing his readiness to material and financial support. “I am very pleased that you cherish what is beautiful, and that is friendship. That is why you are always welcome here”.

Members of the organization accepted the 3 year business and financial reports, and received new members. The assembly decided to move the headquarters from Yugoimport SDPR, Bulevar no. 2 in New Belgrade, to Borhesova 25 in Zemun, where is the seat of the Serbian-Indonesian company IndoSerbiaFood.

The Secretary General Marko Jelic, presented the plan of the activities for 2015, which is continued promotion of the Serbian-Indonesian Friendship through monthly forums in the City Library, tours and exhibitions and marking 70 years since its independence, and 60 years since the Bandung Conference.

In this occasion, members and friends paid tribute to deceased Colonel Predrag Penđer and Lt. Gen. Ljubiša Stojimirović with a moment of silence.

During the ceremony, the assembly unanimously elected Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, HE.Mr. Harry Richard James Kandu as the first advisor to the President of the organization. The Ambassador, in his speech of welcome, thanked the solemn election, expressing confidence that will support the activities of the Company and will strive to contribute to the work of the organization, which nurtures the friendship established by presidents Sukarno and Tito.

Representatives of the Serbian-Cuban Friendship, Friends of Algeria and the Serbian-Venezuelan friendship “Simon Bolivar” also attended the event.

The friendly atmosphere was transferred to socialization over cocktails, prepared by the chairman of the Board Milan Korica, owner of KORNY.
