75 years of Indonesian independence
The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Serbia and Montenegro marked the 75th anniversary of its country’s independence at the residence of the Ambassador Mochammad Chandra Widya Yudha.
The celebration was organized in line with health protection measures in context of COVID-19 pandemic and attended only by employees of the Embassy, while members of the Indonesian community in Serbia and Montenegro, members of the Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship “Nusantara” and many followers on social networks were able to attend the flag-raising ceremony of the most populous and world’s largest Muslim country online via social networks.
Congratulating the holiday, Ambassador Chandra wished peace and progress to the people of Serbia and Indonesia, as well as good health in a hope that the fight against this global pandemic will soon end.
On the occasion of this most important Indonesian holiday, the Embassy organized colourful virtual competitions for the best photography, the best culinary decoration and a short essay on the topic “My message to Indonesia”. The “Zoom” platform once again enabled participants to have fun, sing Indonesian national songs, and enjoy culinary decorations and numerous photos of both Indonesians and Serbs in the colours of the Indonesian flag, paying tribute to the national symbols of the friendly country.
