Association Members Visited Tourist Manifestation “The Rajac Mow”
On Sunday, July 19th, 2015, Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship “Nusantara” organized, for its members and friends, a trip to the Rajac Mountain, the municipality of Ljig and participation in traditional tourist manifestation “The Rajac Mow”.
The fair, which is organized on mountain Rajac every year since 1892, started with traditional Serbian music and old Serbian mowers’ songs to the sound of flute and trumpet and folklore dances.
After the mowers’ toast, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Serbia Bratislav Gašić officially opened the 43rd “Rajac Mow” and the parade of mowers, trumpeters, and water carriers could start.
Competition in mountain grass mowing gathered a large number of mowers from Serbia and the region, and Mirko Kecman, a forester from Bosanski Petrovac was declared the best mower of the competition.
Director of the Indonesian School in Belgrade Busjra Sampono was quite a media attraction, and was interviewed for three televisions and a web portal, while the General Secretary of Association Marko Jelić gave an interview to TV Ljig.
This was an opportunity for members and friends of the Association to see the exhibition of handcrafts and traditional costumes, and enjoy local specialties, especially the lamb and traditional sour cabbage.
After relaxing on the Rajac Mountain, the members and friends of the Association visited the monastery Bogovadja, in Bogovadja, as well as the ethno-center “Babina Reka” in village Trbušnica near Lazarevac, where they stayed socializing in unusual, natural scenery until late in the evening.
