Serbian Mufti Muhamed Jusufspahic received a parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Indonesia

On November 7, 2012 Serbian Mufti and deputy Reis-ul-Ulema of the Islamic Community of Serbia Muhamed Jusufspahic received the parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Indonesia on the official visit to our country.

H.E. Samuel Samson, Indonesian Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia, introduced Mufti Jusufspahic to the Indonesian parliamentary delegation consisting of the representatives of Muslim, Protestant, Roman Catholic and Hindu religion.

Effendi Jusufspahic informed the guests from Indonesia about the activities of the Islamic Community of Serbia and religious rights of Muslim believers in the Republic of Serbia.

Jusufspahic also said that Muslim believers in the Republic of Serbia, by administrative order, have more rights than Muslims in Kosovo and Metohija, where at this point it is not possible to apply the legal provisions of the Republic of Serbia.

Mufti Jusufspahic said that the self-proclaimed secession of Kosovo and Metohija has nothing to do with Muslim issues and that it clearly was political separatism.

In a long talk which followed, the members of the parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Indonesia got answers to other questions relevant to the situation of Muslim believers and religious freedoms in Serbia.

The meeting was attended by the religious officials of the Islamic Community of Serbia and Chairman of the Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship “Nusantara” dr Aleksandar Rakovic.
