“THE COLOUR OF INDONESIA” FIRST PERSONAL PAINTING EXHIBITION OF TAMARA ŠENEKAR

At the Institute of Culture “Braća Stamenković” in Belgrade, on January 15th, 2010, “The Colour of Indonesia” painting exhibition of the author Tamara Šenekar, was opened and lasted till January 25th, 2010. The young painter has exhibited more then 40 paintings done during and after her stay in Bali, 2005-2006, as a scholarship holder of the Indonesian government, showing rich cultural wealth of this exotic country.

„Culture has always been the best base in peoples’ communication and I am very happy to see the Indonesian spirit and experience achieved by Tamara Šenekar in my country, have been developed in Serbia presented in the finest way in this evening’s exhibition“, the Ambassador of Indonesia in Belgrade, H.E. Mr. Muhamed Abduh Dalimunthe says.

The Arts historian, Branka Gostović, notes that Tamara Šenekar has easily mastered the secret of the Balinese traditional style of „Wayang“, and painting on the canvas by the aid of batik decorative technique, realized inventive observation with the attribute of personal creative expression.

The visitors to the exhibition have also been addressed by Mr. Nebojša Stojanović, Chairman of the Managing Board of the NUSANTARA Society, whose member is Šenekar, is working to maintain and enrich the traditional friendship of our two peoples.

At the opening of this exhibition the visitors were also acquainted with the traditional ornaments, the Sanskrit scripts, music and the cuisine of Indonesia.

In the last, less than, two years, the „NUSANTARA“ has organized in Belgrade and in other towns of Serbia, a series of exhibition of our young painters, former scholarship holders of Indonesia.
