BELGRADE DEVELOPS ECONOMIC COOPERATION WITH INDONESIA

Initiated by the NUSANTARA Society and supported by the Club of Businessmen of the Palilula municipality and its agile president, Tomislav Jovanovic, a meeting and presentation have been organized of the oustnding and successful companies devoted to the possibilites of economic cooperation heading to the promotion of the existing economic cooperation and the cooperation of the two counties in general.

The meeting was attended, beside the Ambassador of Indonesia, H.E. Muhamed Abduh Dalimunthe with his associates, also by Deputy Secretary for economic affairs of Belgrade, Stanija Visekruna, who has stated that City authorities readz to give its support to all initiatives leading to the improvement of the economic progress and cooperation between the Belgrade Economy with other countries.

The officials of the city of Belgrade, the Indonesian diplomats as well as the business circles of the Palilula municipality, have announced a presentation of a bigger number of Serbian companies soon who can satisfy the requirements of the two countries with their exotic products and capacities.

The President of the Business Club of Palilua municipality, Mr. Tomislav Jovanovic has particularly noted on the possibilities of cooperation with the companies such as Agricultural Plant Beograd (PKB), „Kirka-Suri“,„Tehnohemija“, „Bilje Borča“ and BG Sport Center Kovilovo.

There are more then 12.000 companies with more than 70.000 employees officially registered in Palilula, and at the same time, the Municipality, by its territory, is the biggest in the capital city, the second by its size in Serbia, while some of the companies on its territory are holders of domestic economic activities in building constructions, agricultures, industries, trades and handicrafts.

Ambassador Dalimunthe has stressed that in the last few years, the growth of economic cooperation between Indonesia and Serbia has significantly been noted, and in 2008 it reached USD 55 million, and underlined the interest and the possibility of economic cooperation between the Indonesian companies with the boiler factory Kirka-Suri and PKB, who have big and multi-decade experience in the agricultural production and cattle breeding.

Indonesia, with its 230 million inhabitants and 1,9 million km2 territory, is a large market which has made rapid progress time after time, and could be made available as a „jumping board” for the Serbian companies to be present in the other countries of the SE Asia as well, the region which has taken more and bigger participation in the international economy.
