The 70th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia was marked at the residence of the Ambassador H.E. Mr. Harry E. James Richard Kandou on August 17, 2015 in the presence of the members of the Association of Serbian-Indonesian Friendship “Nusantara”, members of Indonesian community in Serbia, diplomats and officials of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia who were invited to attended the flag raising ceremony.

In his speech, the Ambassador underlined very friendly relations between the two countries, particularly referring to “Nusantara” Association and emphasizing the efforts and activities of the Association.

To the sounds of the national anthem “Indonesia Raya”, the ambassador’s speech and memory of the heroes of Indonesian independence, all the guests congratulated the national holiday to the hosts.

After the morning ceremony, there was an organized entertainment program, lunch, awarding the participants of sport competitions, lottery drawing and announcing lottery winners. The celebration was held in a friendly atmosphere, with singing, dancing and full of joy.
